GOVERNOR FUBARA ARRIVES IN PORT HARCOURT AFTER END TO EMERGENCY RULE
Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers state has returned to Port Harcourt, more than 24 hours after President Bola Tinubu lifted the six-month emergency rule in the state.
The governor arrived at the Port Harcourt International Airport on Friday around 11:50 a.m., where he was welcomed by a cheering crowd of supporters at the VIP wing.
During the period, retired Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas administered the state as sole administrator. In his farewell message on Wednesday night, Ibas appealed to political leaders in Rivers to embrace dialogue and show mutual respect in order to sustain peace.
