Hon. Belemote Alfred Watson, Commissioner, Ministry of Community Development, has urged host communities of the Nembe-Brass Road in Brass Local Government Area, Bayelsa State, to cooperate with A.I.L. Infrastructure Limited, the construction company handling the project, for speedy delivery.
He also tasked the youths to take full ownership of the project and work in tandem with the company and government to bring the road project to fruition.
Hon. Watson stated this when he led a high-level delegation on a two-day courtesy visit to the host communities to familiarize with them, as well as emphasize the significance, importance, and benefits of the Nembe-Brass Road upon completion.
Speaking after a brief meeting with critical stakeholders, the Commissioner thanked Governor Douye Diri for taking the lead in carrying out the project, and President Bola Tinubu for the supportive role in actualizing the project with the release of funds for the commencement of the second phase, which according to him is significant to the development of the region.
Also speaking, Hon. Ebi Ben Ololo, the Commissioner for Environment and Hon. Alalibo West, his counterpart from the Ministry of Special Duty, Bayelsa East enjoined the youths to work in synergy with the contracted firm while promoting a peaceful and enabling environment for the project to go on smoothly.
They also thanked President Bola Tinubu and Governor Douye Diri for their visionary prowess in embarking on the Nembe-Brass Road project.
On his part, Mr. Ozu Biongbo, the Youth President of Die-Ama community on behalf of the youths of the community, thanked the Commissioner and critical stakeholders for the courtesy visit, while appealing to the construction company to make provision for the indigenous youths of the Local Government Area to be employed and absorbed in the construction process.
Responding, Engr. Leonard Obibi, the Project Director of A.I.L. Infrastructure Limited, assured of the company’s readiness to work collaboratively with everyone, especially the youths, to achieve the aim and objectives of the Bayelsa State government within the stipulated time frame.
The high-level delegation and stakeholders present during the visit include Hon. Timi-Omubo Agala, member representing Brass Constituency Two in the Bayelsa State House of Assembly; Hon. Ebi Ben Ololo, Commissioner for Environment; Hon. (Dr.) Daniel Charles, member representing Brass Constituency One in the House of Assembly; and Hon. Alalibo West, Commissioner of Special Duty, Bayelsa East.
The communities visited were Okpoama, Ewoama, Odio-Ama, Diei-Ama, and Fantuo in Brass and Nembe Local Government Areas of Bayelsa State.
