POLICE ARREST KADI, OTHERS OVER ASSAULT

Kadi, the young girl seeing in a viral video assaulting Miss Nancy Wilfred has been arrested by the Nigeria Police on Thursday.

Kadi who was paraded at the command headquarter in Yenagoa alongside her friends, blamed the act on intake of excessive alcohol.

Their arrest comes after the Bayelsa State Police Command launched a manhunt for suspects involved in the alleged attempted murder, cyber bullying, cyber stalking and assault.

The incident, which went viral on social media, has sparked public concern after disturbing images of the young woman’s ordeal surfaced online.

Mr. Alonyenu Francis Idu, Commissioner of Police in a statement through Mr. Musa Mohammed, the command’s spokesperson, says a criminal investigation is underway to bring those behind the attack to justice.

The Commissioner also appealed to the public to desist from sharing the viral images, warning that such actions could worsen the victim’s psychological trauma.

Earlier, on Wednesday, Verydarkman, VDM, popular social media activist also announced a two million reward for anyone with credible information that could lead to the arrest of the girls. VDM made the announcement in a video posted on his social media handles.
