Publisher of Ovation Magazine and veteran journalist, Dele Momodu, has resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and officially joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

His resignation was conveyed in a letter dated July 17, 2025, and addressed to the Chairman of PDP Ward 4 in Ihievbe, Owan East Local Government Area of Edo State.
Momodu said he was leaving the party due to what he described as the takeover of the PDP by anti-democratic forces. He explained that the situation had left him with no choice but to move on and join a new political front.
In the letter, Momodu expressed his readiness to align with a growing coalition on the ADC platform aimed at challenging the All Progressives Congress (APC) and unseating President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general elections.
He described the PDP as a party that has lost its way, saying, “It is honourable to abandon the carcass of the party to those who have hijacked it.”

Momodu’s defection adds momentum to the opposition movement building up under the ADC banner ahead of the next election cycle.
