Members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU have started receiving their salary for the month of June from last night.

A lecturer at the Federal University Otuoke in Bayelsa state who spoke to Golden 97.5 FM on the condition of anonymity confirmed that salaries are now being paid.

He said ASUU had directed its branches to embark on strike henceforth if salary delays beyond 4th of every month.

Earlier, Prof. Chris Piwuna, ASUU’s National President warned that the union would invoke a no-pay-no-work policy against the Federal Government if June 2025 salaries were delayed.

Similarly, the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics, ASUP, in a statement released during the weekend, also threatened to embark on strike if the government fails to release their salaries.
