Youths from Toru-Orua in Sagbama Local Government Area have come out to insist that it is the turn of their community to produce the next representative for constituency one in the Bayelsa State House of Assembly.

The declaration was made at a weekend meeting where the youths gathered to deliberate on the political future of Sagbama Constituency One and the need to preserve the longstanding rotational arrangement that has guided representation within the constituency.

Speaking on behalf of the youths, Mr. Foster John, their spokesperson, stressed that the existing rotational policy has remained a stabilizing factor, fostering unity, fairness, and inclusion among the various communities in the constituency and called on all relevant actors across the constituency to support the continuation of the zoning formula.

Beyond their demand for equitable representation, Mr. John also call on Dr. Moses Oruaze Dickson, businessman and legal practitioner, to step forward and contest for the seat, emphasizing that they believe he possesses the leadership qualities required to effectively represent the constituency.

The youth leader also declared that should Dr. Dickson hesitate to accept their appeal, they are prepared to collectively raise funds to purchase his expression of interest and nomination forms once they become available.

In a further show of their commitment, he urged all youths of the community and beyond to arm themselves with their voter’s card and register with National Democratic Congress, NDC and maintain the existing calm and tranquility in their individual domains.
