NAPTIP URGES BAYELSANS TO REPORT ALL FORMS OF HUMAN TRAFFICKING

The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons, NAPTIP, Bayelsa State Command has urged pupils in primary and secondary schools as well as teachers to report all forms of human trafficking to the Agency.

 

NAPTIP, Bayelsa State Command said this when it visited a private school in Biogbolo in Yenagoa, to sensitize both pupils and teachers on the dangers of human trafficking.

 

Mrs. Abieyuwa Ikhidero, the State Commander of NAPTIP, represented Mr. Wariebi Sambo, an official from the Public Enlightenment Unit stated that the purpose of the visit was also to educate the pupils and teachers on the dangers of child abuse and gender-based violence.

 

A key highlight of the sensitization program was the traditional issuance of a Red Cards to traffickers, symbolizing zero tolerance for trafficking activities.

 

The Agency also distributed Information, Education and Communication materials to both pupils and teachers.
