FATAL ACCIDENT CLAIMS ONE LIFE IN YENAGOA

A fatal road accident near Ebis Junction along the expressway in Biogbolo, Yenagoa, has claimed the life of a pedestrian on Monday afternoon.

Eyewitnesses say a Lexus jeep, coming from the Tombia axis, was speeding when the driver, who was on a phone call, knocked down a man crossing the road.

They said the victim reportedly somersaulted three times in the air before landing heavily on the ground and died instantly from severe injuries to his head, waist, and leg.

Mr. Philip Fubara, another eyewitness who recounted the incident, urged pedestrians to exercise caution when crossing the road and called on drivers to strictly obey speed limits.

The deceased’s remains have been moved to the mortuary, while the driver is now in police custody and the vehicle has been towed away.
