FG DECLARES THURSDAY, FRIDAY PUBLIC HOLIDAYS FOR EID-EL-FITR

The Federal Government has declared Thursday 19th, and Friday 20th March, 2026, as public holidays to celebrate Eid-el-Fitr, the end of the holy month of Ramadan.

In a statement, Mrs. Magdalene Ajani, the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Interior, says the declaration was made on behalf of the Federal Government by Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, the Minister of Interior.

The Minister congratulates Muslims on the successful completion of Ramadan and urged them to sustain the virtues of love, generosity, peace, tolerance, and sacrifice.

He also called on Nigerians to use the festive period to pray for peace, unity, and continued progress in the country.

Dr. Tunji-Ojo encouraged citizens to celebrate responsibly and extend kindness to the less privileged during the festivities.
