The Bayelsa State Police Command says it has begun the interrogation of four personnel of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, over their alleged involvement in the arrest of late Patrick Peresoudei in Amassoma community before his death.
Mr. Musa Mohammed, the command’s spokesperson, in a statement on Tuesday said the State Criminal Investigation Department is also questioning officers attached to Operation Restore Peace, also known as Operation Puff Adder.
He said the Command is committed to a thorough, impartial, and transparent investigation, noting that anyone found culpable will be prosecuted in line with the law.
It also disclosed that the Police have activated their intelligence network to locate and arrest Mr. Bodmas Kemepadei, the prime suspect, who is currently on the run.
The statement added that Mr. Iyamah Daniel, the Commissioner of Police, has appealed to members of the public to support the investigation by providing useful information to the Police.
