BAYELSA GOVERNMENT ORDERS THOROUGH PROBE INTO DEATH OF PERESUODEI

The Bayelsa State Government says it has taken a special interest in the circumstances surrounding the death of Mr. Peresuodei Ondutimi Abbah from Amassoma Community, Southern Ijaw Local Government Area. The government said it is working closely with the Nigeria Police Force and other relevant security agencies to ensure a thorough, impartial and transparent investigation.

This was disclosed on Monday in a statement signed by Honourable Biriyai Dambo, SAN, the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice in Bayelsa State.

The government says investigations are at an advanced stage, with critical information and statements from potential witnesses already obtained, adding that no stone will be left unturned in uncovering the truth.

According to the statement, the Governor has directed that the Office of the Attorney General should take over the matter upon the conclusion of investigations for onward prosecution.

The Attorney General has also urged members of the public to remain calm, avoid speculation and refrain from spreading unverified information that could hinder investigations or escalate tensions.

The Bayelsa State Government expressed its condolences to the family, friends and Amassoma community of the deceased, assuring that anyone found culpable will be held accountable through due process.
