PRESIDENT TINUBU ENDS VACATION, AHEAD OF FUBARA’S REINSTATEMENT

President Bola Tinubu is expected back in Abuja today, Tuesday, 16 September 2025 after spending 11 days on vacation in France.

Mr. Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, confirmed the development in a statement on Monday, noting that President Tinubu had concluded his holiday ahead of schedule.

The president’s return comes ahead of the lifting of emergency rule in Rivers State and the reinstatement of Sir Siminalayi Fubara, the suspended Rivers State Governor, on Thursday.

The president left Nigeria on September 4 for France as part of his annual holiday, with an initial plan to also spend some time in the United Kingdom.

While in Paris, President Tinubu held a private luncheon with his French counterpart, Emmanuel Macron, at the Élysée Palace. Both leaders discussed areas of bilateral cooperation and pledged to deepen ties for shared prosperity and global stability.
