This was announced in a statement by Hon. Ebiuwou Koku-Obiyai, the Commissioner for Information, Orientation and Strategy on Tuesday.
The state government said the ban is part of its commitment to fast tract development, prevent extra burden on investors and promote business friendly environment.
The statement advised Community Development Committees, youth organisations to desist from demanding or collecting development levy in their own interest.
However, the statement said companies will continue to undertake corporate social responsibility projects within the framework of regulations by relevant agencies. It added that the Government expects full compliance to the directive.
