PARENTS OF LATE DANIEL AYAMA DEMAND THOROUGH INVESTIGATION INTO SON’S DEATH IN BAYELSA.

The family of 27-year-old Daniel Ayama, who was tragically killed in a suspected cult-related attack in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, is calling for a comprehensive investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death. The incident, which occurred in the early hours of May 16, 2025, has left the community in shock and mourning.

According to the Bayelsa State Police Command, Mr. Ayama and three others, were returning from a birthday party when they were ambushed by unknown assailants in an unmarked Hilux vehicle at INEC Junction, Yenagoa.

Mr. Daniel Ayama was shot dead, while the others sustained injuries and were taken to the Federal Medical Centre, FMC in Yenagoa for treatment.
The police have commenced an investigation into the incident, which they suspect is linked to intra-cult rivalry.

The Ayama family however has expressed deep dissatisfaction with the initial handling of the case by local authorities. They are urging the police to leave no stone unturned in uncovering the truth behind their son’s death. Community leaders and civil society organizations have joined the Ayama family in their call for justice.

In response to the growing outcry, the Bayelsa State Police Command has assured the public of its commitment to investigating the matter diligently.
Mr. Musa Mohammed, the Police Public Relations Officer, stated that all leads are being pursued and that the public will be kept informed of any developments.
