The Senate has suspended Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan for six months following investigations into her recent conduct within the chamber and allegation of sexual harassment and abuse of office against Senator Godswill Akpabio, the Senate President.
The decision, which takes effect on March 6, 2025, was based on the recommendation of the Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges, and Code of Conduct that found guilty of violating Senate rules.
Senator Akpabio, the Senate President announced the suspension while reading out the recommendations of the Committee who were probing her claims of sexual harassment.
As a result of this decision, Senator Natasha will Lose access to her Senate office for six months, forfeit her salaries and allowances, including those of her aides, and be barred from entering the Senate premises throughout the suspension period.
Following her suspension, the Kogi Central lawmaker was escorted out of the chambers by the Sergeant-At-Arms, but before she left, the suspended lawmaker said this before her microphone was put off.
