CITY BOY MOVEMENT DONATE 200 BAGS OF RICE, COW TO BAYELSA MUSLIM COMMUNITY

As Muslims across Nigeria celebrate Eid el-Kabir, a festival that is marked by acts of charity, and community-focused celebrations, the city boy movement joined in the festivities by donating 200 bags of rice and a cow to the Muslim community in Bayelsa.

Deputy Director City Boy Movement Bayelsa who represented High Chief Osomkime Edwin Blankson, the State Director City Boy Movement stated that the event was put together to identify with the Muslim community in Bayelsa in celebration of the Eid el-Kabir and to hand over the items to them.
On his part, Mr Alaowei Opukeme Jonah, coordinator, City Boy movement, yenagoa Local Government Area, kicked against using religion to divide citizens. He stated that the event was put together to embrace Muslims in the state and a pointer that they are one.

Speaking on behalf of the Muslim community, Imam Abusufyan Uche, Chairman of the League of Imams in Bayelsa State, appreciated the city boy movement for the kind gesture. He also called for unity and kicked against acts causing disunity in the Muslim community, stating that segregation does not help any group.

Also speaking, Alhaji Yakubu Otobo, Vice President-General of the Bayelsa State Council for Islamic Affairs, commended the city boy movement for its support to Muslims during festive periods. He promised that the Muslims in bayelsa state are ready to work for the reelection of President Bola Tinubu if called upon.
